On July 30th we officially broke ground on the new museum. The well-attended event gave us the opportunity to celebrate the years of hard work and amazing support that got us to this momentous place.
Thanks to all our volunteers, donors, community supporters, and staff for making the groundbreaking ceremony an unforgettable day! It was a day filled with pride, reflection, and above all excitement as we see progress towards the realization of our new home. Thanks to Mayor Murray, Senator Carlyle, and Board President Irma Goertzen for stating the importance of our museum and our mission. A big thank you to all our donors - without you we would not have been able to put the shovels in the ground.
The next years will be exciting, but also challenging. With this groundbreaking, I am confident that we can reach our goals together, and open a new state-of-the-art Nordic Museum in 2018.
