Swedish Ambassador to the United States, Björn Lyrvall, was here for his first Seattle visit since accepting his assignment to the US. We were honored to have him at the Museum for a tour, some Swedish pastries, a presentation, and a discussion regarding our new Museum project. We are very thankful for this opportunity to discuss possible support for the project, both from Sweden and the Swedish community here in the US. I want to send a special thank you to Honorary Consul, Lars Johnson, and the Seattle Consulate of Sweden staff for all of their help putting this memorable visit together.
The Ambassador and Honorary Consul were also joined by Niklas Nordström, Mayor of Luleå, Sweden. Luleå, Sweden was the original home of John W. Nordstrom, founder of the Nordstrom retail group. Niklas also has a personal connection, as you might have guessed from his last name!
