General parking is available in the Museum’s parking lot which can be accessed from the corner of Market and 28th; the rate is $2/hour unless otherwise marked.
Visitors may find alternative parking options off Market Street, in the residential neighborhood surrounding the Museum, or at the Hiram Chittenden Locks—a 5-minute walk to the Museum.
Ballard is serviced by Metro busses 17 and 44. You may plan your Metro trip here: https://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/
Market Street is currently under construction as part of the Burke-Gilman Trail project, and can cause delays and frustration. Thank you for supporting the Museum with your visit even during this difficult time!
The latest construction project information we have from the Seattle Department of Traffic is regarding a redirection of traffic at 28th Avenue NW and Market Street:
"On Monday, October 7, traffic at 28th Avenue NW and NW Market Street will be redirected to one-way northbound as crews begin work on the west side of the intersection. Vehicles wishing to turn south on to 28th Avenue NW will be detoured to turn south onto 26th Avenue NW, and turn onto 28th Avenue NW from NW 54th Street."
