General parking is available in the Museum’s parking lot which can be accessed from the corner of Market and 28th; the rate is $2/hour unless otherwise marked.
Visitors may find alternative parking options off Market Street, in the residential neighborhood surrounding the Museum, or at the Hiram Chittenden Locks—a 5-minute walk to the Museum..
Ballard is serviced by Metro busses 17 and 44. You may plan your Metro trip here: https://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/
Market Street is currently under construction as part of the Burke-Gilman Trail project, and can cause delays and frustration. Thank you for supporting the Museum with your visit even during this difficult time!
The latest construction project information we have from the Seattle Department of Traffic is regarding the closure of the intersection at Northwest Market Street and 24th Avenue NW on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22. Detour signs will route traffic. To get to the Museum on those days, SDOT has provided the following proposed route:
- Going to the Museum will be right on 22nd Ave NW, left at NW 57th St, left at 28th Ave NW and onto the Museum parking lot.
To leave the parking lot, SDOT has provided the following proposed route:
- From Parking lot will be through 28th Ave NW, right at NW 57th St, right at 22nd Ave NW.
