Normal operating hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Members: Please before reserving your free tickets or registering for events. Membership discounts are applied at checkout. In compliance with King County mandates, the National Nordic Museum requires that all visitors over the age of 12 be vaccinated against COVID-19 or, alternatively, show proof of a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours of your visit. Additionally, all visitors ages 5 and older, regardless of vaccination status, must be masked while indoors. Please see our VISITOR GUIDELINES for latest comfort and safety measures.

Summer 2021 Virtual Folk School Series Pass

Join the National Nordic Museum for a summer-long series of mini classes highlighting traditional Nordic craft. Part lecture and part demonstration, these classes will introduce you to a variety of craft styles, including rosemaling, dalmålning, woodcarving, knitting, and weaving. No materials are required for these mini classes!

There are five classes in this summer-long series: 

  • June 27 | Rosemaling with Lise Lorentzen (ticket for rosemaling only)- the link for this class will be in your receipt.
  • July 11 | Nordic Knitting with Laura Ricketts (ticket for knitting only)
  • July 25 | Woodcarving Basics with Brendan McGarry (ticket for woodcarving only)
  • August 8 | Decorative Folk Painting of Sweden: Dalmåleri and Bonadsmåleri with Pieper Bloomquist (ticket for painting only)
  • August 22 | Woven Coverlets of Norway with Katherine Larson (ticket for coverlets only)
