Event date

SOLD OUT! This event is now full, we apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will join us for future events. We are planning a live screening of this film at the National Nordic Museum when we can gather again.

Join us as Vanishing Seattle presents their next film in its series that takes a deeper dive into the stories of history, community, and resilience behind the #VanishingSeattle hashtag.

We will screen the short film about Ballard’s Scandinavian legacy amid a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood—including its last remaining Nordic-focused retail shop, Scandinavian Specialties. The film will be screened on Zoom, with commentary by filmmaker Cody Lewis, owner of Scandinavian Specialties Bjørn Ruud, and founder of Vanishing Seattle Cynthia Brothers. The event will conclude with a Q&A session.

Panelists:
Bjørn Ruud - Owner, Scandinavian Specialties
Cody Lewis, Filmmaker, Freebuilt Films
Cynthia Brothers, Founder, Vanishing Seattle

Cost: Free; registration required. You will receive the link for this Zoom screening and Q&A the day before the event.
