Virtual Workshop: Translating a Photo into a Papercut
May 01, 2021
10:00am - 12:00pm PST

Ready for a creative challenge? In this class Seattle-based artist Anna Brones will teach us how to take a photo and translate it into a papercut, covering both abstract and realistic compositions. Bring a photo or two as inspiration!

The materials you'll need for these classes are:

  • A craft knife + extra blades (Anna recommends this one)
  • Self-healing cutting mat
  • Printer paper (for sketching and practicing cutting)
  • Heavier paper (for final papercuts). Anna mostly cuts in black paper, but you can choose what you would like. Anna recommends Canson Mi-Teintes 98 lb (this comes in a variety of colors too!)
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Ruler

Please email Education and Interpretation Coordinator Kate Dugdale if you have questions or need assistance.

This virtual class will take place on Zoom. You will receive log in information via email.

Cost: $25 for Members; $30 general admission
