Make your wedding, meeting, or event extra special by hosting at at the National Nordic Museum. Our Osberg Great Hall, Fjord Hall, and terrace are perfect for weddings and performances, while our classrooms, lounge, and balcony are intimately-sized for meetings, classes, or small receptions.

Located in the heart of the thriving Ballard neighborhood, the Museum offers unique private event experiences with a flare of Scandinavian design. Located minutes away from downtown, a short walk to the world-famous Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, and a quick drive to Golden Gardens, the Museum offers full services for your next wedding, gala, ceremony, meeting, and conference.

Visualize your next event in our one-of-a-kind Osberg Great Hall featuring award-wining architecture designed by local firm, Mithun. Plan a trip with your family for a private lunch before visiting the galleries to dive deep into Nordic history, art, and heritage. Feel the connection of the Museum’s community, it’s Scandinavian roots, and the history of this important waterfront area of Seattle.

Private event spaces at the National Nordic Museum offer the charm of old Ballard in a modern, award-winning building providing the perfect touches and desired amenities needed for any event.

OSBERG GREAT HALL

Clad in hemlock and laced with pendant lights, the Museum's Osberg Great Hall features over 4,200 square feet of acoustically-tuned multipurpose space. Built into the west wall is a 16:9 rear-projection screen with state-of-the-art sound system. The back of the auditorium is designed with a sliding glass wall running the full length of the eastern elevation, and provides a spectacular vista of the Museum's 3,000-square-foot Fisherman's Sun Terrace. Included in the pricing are 33 round dining tables and 400 chairs.

Capacity: Up to 600 for standing/reception; maximum of 280 for seated/banquet

Availability: Evenings, 5pm–Midnight; day rentals available

FJORD HALL

The Museum is designed around our linear Fjord Hall that weaves together stories of homeland and the Nordic American experience. Over 280 feet long, this space offers a unique event space and includes a PA system, dramatic lighting, and one-of-a-kind art object installation.

Capacity: Up to 200 for standing/reception

Availability: Evenings only, 5pm–Midnight

 

FISHERMAN'S SUN TERRACE

The Museum's Fisherman's Sun Terrace along the southern elevation of the building provides a modern exterior setting for summer parties and events. This space can accommodate a 40x60 tent.

Capacity: 400 for standing/reception; 150 for seated/banquet

Availability: Evenings, 5pm–Midnight; day rentals available

 

THIRD FLOOR LOUNGE

The third floor lounge offers our guests the chance to host intimate events while enjoying some of the most iconic vistas in Seattle.  With views of the Olympic Mountains to the landmark fishing boat docks, this space also offers a spacious deck overlooking our Sun Terrace: a perfect addition to any wedding.

Capacity: 59 for standing/reception; 26 for seated/banquet

Availability: Evenings only, 5 pm – Midnight,

 

CLASSROOMS

The Museum offers two classrooms for smaller gatherings, meetings, and classes of many kinds. Simple and elegant Scandinavian furniture offers a variety of room setups, and the classrooms are fully equipped for your conference needs. Freya offers in-house coffee and pastry services for all occasions.

 

EAST GARDEN

The East Garden is a perfect location for intimate outdoor parties to host all your closest friends and family. It boasts a reproduction runestone and Viking ship, as well as a fully restored 1914 Finnish-style sauna.
